About
The east sits in the Sternarkaden, Getreidegasse 36a, right in the bustle and yet one step to the side of it. Inside there's modern design and dimmed light, laid back rather than smart. On the plate it's Asian fusion: sushi and sashimi, plus curry, ramen and things from the wok. It works at lunch as a quick bowl and in the evening with a group of friends.

In good weather I sit on the terrace towards the Sterngarten, where you're in the old town and still hear nothing of the crowds. I always order several of the signature rolls for the middle of the table, then everyone tries everything. For Friday and Saturday I book a few days ahead.

Modern Asian fusion: sushi and sashimi, curries, ramen and wok dishes. Neatly plated, without turning it into a ceremony.
Price level
Main courses and sushi sets run between fifteen and twenty-five euros. Mid to upper range, and for the quality and the location that's right.
Location & access
Getreidegasse 36a in the Sternarkaden, in the middle of the old town. Best on foot; by car use the old town garage and come out through the Griesgasse exit.
