Restaurant
The Ichi go ichi e on Sterneckstraße was the first real ramen bar in Salzburg and is still the best. The broths are deep and long-simmered, the kitchen is open, so you watch. Inside it's modern, warm light, relaxed rather than smart. Not a place for a long evening, but for a very good bowl of soup.

Local from Salzburg
Book ahead in the evening, the place is small and always full. I start with the karaage, crispy chicken, and then the Black Garlic Ramen, there is no way around those. If you come by car: they have their own parking spaces behind the building, put the parking disc where it can be seen or you'll find a ticket on the windscreen.
Japanese ramen in several versions, plus donburi rice bowls and mochi. Open kitchen, pared-back room, everything revolves around the bowl.
A large bowl of ramen runs twelve to fifteen euros, and it will fill you up. For what lands on the table, that's cheap.
Sterneckstraße 33 in Schallmoos, a few minutes from the main station. Easy by bus or bike, and their own parking spaces are right behind the building.
