Specialty Coffee
The Kaffeeothek sits in the Schatz-Durchhaus, one of the narrow passages leading off the Getreidegasse. Not a coffee house with cakes and marble tables, but a small shop that is all about the bean: espresso, filter coffee, pour-over and a croissant with it. Ask, and you get a recommendation instead of a menu.

Local from Salzburg
I go late in the morning or early in the afternoon, when the old town rush stays outside and someone inside has time for you. If you're unsure, take a filter coffee or a pour-over instead of the usual cappuccino, that's what the place is there for. Afterwards a few steps on to the Universitätsplatz, that works.
Specialty coffee: espresso drinks, filter coffee and pour-over, plus croissants and a few sweet things. Minimal fittings, no frills.
On the expensive side for coffee, normal for specialty coffee. What you pay for here is the difference between a bean somebody picked out and the usual machine coffee.
In the Schatz-Durchhaus by the Getreidegasse, right in the old town. Best on foot or by bus; by car into the Altstadtgarage and the rest on foot.
