About
The Weitmoser Schlossalm sits at just under 2,000 metres on the Schlossalm, with a big sun terrace and a panorama room behind it. What sets it apart from the other huts is its own Almvinothek: a wine cellar with top Austrian wines, in the middle of a ski area. Plus beef from their own organic farm. Ski-in and ski-out works straight off the piste.

I come before twelve or not until after two, in between it's packed. If you want to sit inside as a group, book ahead. Take one of the beef specialities from their own farm and have them recommend a wine from the cellar with it, that's the difference from a normal ski hut.
Cuisine & style
Modern hut cooking with a regional focus: beef from their own farm, grills, baked potatoes, strudel and a big salad buffet. Plus the wine cellar.
Price level
Solidly mid-range to slightly upmarket, dearer than the standard hut. In return you get quality and choice you won't find elsewhere up here.
Location & access
In the Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel ski area at just under 2,000 metres. Up with the Schlossalmbahn, then across the pistes or on foot from the top station, skis or not.
