About
The Seisenbergklamm near Weißbach is one of the tight gorges in the Pinzgau: walkways over the water, waterfalls, rock right up against your shoulders. The path is built up and secured, and for the whole gorge you should allow two hours. On a hot day you go in mainly for the cool, damp air. The entrance is right by the car park, so there's no long walk in.

My favourite time is Wednesday evening, when the guided night walk Water and Sound runs, with torches and music in the gorge. That's a different thing from the normal walk through. The boards tell the legend of the Klamgeist, which always works on kids. And look out for the remains of the old logging tracks, you can still see them in several places.
Duration & difficulty
Two hours for the whole gorge, taken slowly. Easy and secured throughout, but the walkways are wet, so proper shoes are better.
Best season
May to October. In spring the meltwater pushes through and the waterfalls are at their loudest, in autumn it's colourful and empty.
Location & access
At Weißbach bei Lofer in the Pinzgau, about an hour from Salzburg by car. Parking is at the entrance, and from Weißbach it's all signposted.
