Park & garden
The Schlosspark Hellbrunn lies behind the palace in the south of the city: broad meadows, old trees, fountains, and paths in between on which everyone spreads out. You can do the short loop in twenty minutes, but nobody walks through here like that. Most people stay one to two hours, lie down on the grass in summer and see what they find on the side paths.

Early in the morning or late in the afternoon the park is almost empty, in between the groups come for the trick fountains. That is when I head for the back corners, there is nobody there and the photos turn out better than in front of the palace. In summer I bring something to eat and stay lying on the grass.

Twenty minutes for the short loop, one to two hours if you take your time. Flat and well surfaced, no problem with a pushchair or a wheelchair.
All year. In spring and summer the park is at its best, in autumn there are leaves on the paths and it is much emptier.
In the south of Salzburg by Schloss Hellbrunn. Bus line 25 stops right at the entrance, by car there is parking on site, and by bike you come along the Hellbrunner Allee.
