About
The Hangar-7 sits opposite the airport and is a sight from the outside alone: a glass dome with aircraft, helicopters and Formula 1 cars inside. The collection belongs to Red Bull and entry costs nothing. There's also the restaurant Ikarus, several bars and a gallery. You come in for twenty minutes and leave two hours later, that's how it goes here.

In summer the Outdoor Lounge in front of the hangar is the real reason to come: sitting outside, the glass architecture behind you, the mountains in front. The best seats are the ones close to the glass roof, that's where you get the sunset. And hardly anyone looks at the art gallery, even though, like everything else here, it's free.

Duration & difficulty
Two hours are enough, even if you take your time with the exhibition and have a drink somewhere. Step-free inside and out, no issue with a pushchair or a wheelchair.
Best season
Open all year. In summer the Outdoor Lounge is open, in winter everything moves inside under the dome.
Location & access
By Salzburg airport, a few minutes from the old town. Parking is free, and the bus or a bike gets you there just as well.
