A wooden pavilion with a green roof, right in the Volksgarten on Ignaz-Rieder-Kai. Aperol Spritz under huge trees, views of the fortress, and a SalzBeach with around 1,000 m² of sand next door. Frozen yoghurt with toppings, everything served in reusable cups, no cans, no plastic. Lively in summer, sometimes with live DJs or food trucks.

My favourite spot is the stepped seating by the pond, just as the afternoon starts to turn into evening. Grab a frozen yoghurt, head over to SalzBeach and claim one of the shady lounging spots. Come early - the kiosk sometimes closes before you'd expect.
