You walk out of the Lammerklamm, legs still burning, and there it is: the Lammerklause, right in front of you. No coincidence - the inn is the official endpoint of the one-way hike. Rupert and Lydia have been running this family place since 2000. The kitchen is classic Austrian, the Schnitzel is really good, and the sunny terrace is hard to leave.

I save my visit for game season. The wild game is hunted by local hunters in the Tennengebirge and Lammertal - sometimes by the innkeeper himself - and processed on-site. You can taste the difference. Top it off with the homemade strudel and the day is complete.

Around 10 to 20 euros per person. Fair prices for the quality, no tourist markup.
