About
The Weitblick sits at the mid station of the Goldbergbahn in Sportgastein and looks out into the high plateau. Inside, wood-panelled parlours; outside, a big sun terrace with half a circle of mountains in view. Regional classics come to the table, part self-service, part brought to you. The standard stop between two runs.

I come early or only after the lunch rush, that way you still get a seat by the windows or outside on the terrace. Sportgastein is sunny but windy: sunglasses and one more layer belong in the bag. Plenty of people here plan their ski tour so the stop falls exactly on the way back.
Cuisine & style
Regional classics like goulash soup, pasta, strudel and homemade cakes. Part self-service, part table service, with no fuss around it.
Price level
A mountain restaurant high in the Alps, so mid range to a little above. The quality is there, and the terrace with the panorama is part of what you pay.
Location & access
At the mid station of the Goldbergbahn in Sportgastein. In winter you only get there by gondola or over the pistes, to the valley station by car or ski bus.
